Silviculture is the practice of managing and harvesting forest growth in a sustainable manner. On the farm we routinely use various varieties of trees for the production of fence posts, compost, lumber and on occasion firewood for cooking on an open fire or with the fogon which is a type of firebox for cooking. Any trees that are dead or fallen are chipped for producing compost. Once the trees are chipped the composting process is very rapid taking as little as two months to be ready to use in the gardens or on the fields. No waste wood is burned on the farm promoting clean air. The main type of tree used is Acacia and there is ample stands of mature and immature acacia to fill all the needs on the farm.

La silvicultura es la práctica de manejar y cosechar árboles de manera sostenible. En la finca usamos varias especies para producir estacas de cerca, composta, madera y ocasionalmente leña para cocinar en fogón. Los árboles muertos o caídos se trituran para producir composta. Ese proceso es muy rápido y puede tomar solo dos meses. No se quema madera en la finca para mantener aire limpio. El árbol principal es la acacia, y hay suficientes árboles maduros y jóvenes para suplir todas las necesidades de la finca.
